I have been using this scale for a little over a week and so far it has done a great job.The weight appears to be accurate and doesn't vary much from one weighing to another. I tried it several times in a row (with 2 minute breaks in-between) and got the same exact results!The scale is very compact in size and has a nice, red, easy-to-read display that turns on and off automatically.

Just be aware that this scale does not come with the 9V battery like Amazon claims.In fact, the packaging of this scale says that the battery is not included. When I contacted Amazon about it, however, they gave me a small credit in refund to buy the battery.

I was looking for a scale to replace my old clunker that had rusted away.
I wanted one with the ability to measure body fat.
This scale not only measures body fat but also fluid content as well.
Best, it has a memory to hold up to 12 measurements for each of the four users which you can review at the touch of a button and it can keep track of up to four different individuals. Of course if you are the only one using the scale you can program all four buttons for yourself and then save up to 48 measurements for yourself.

You can also use it without storing measurements so any number of people can use it.

For the four people you do want to keep track of the programming is simple. Choose one of the four buttons on the front of the scale and hold it down along with the "Select" button. Then enter how tall the person is, male or female and what that person's goal weight is, if you want to. It isn't required. That is it. You are ready to go.
To weigh yourself, touch the button you assigned to yourself. The scale turns on, zeros itself out and you then stand on the scale barefooted so that it can measure the fat and fluid contents of your body. Wait about 30 seconds and it will display your current weight, then your weight and fat/fluid percentages then how much you gained or lost since the last time you stored your weight. Step off of the scale and touch the Select button with your toe to store your current measurements and you are done.

To review your progress, touch the assigned button for yourself and then the up or down buttons to page through the stored measurements for yourself. Each stored measurement consists of three screens of data. For each saved weight, the first screen contains the weight and the date that weight was taken and the amount of weight change from that weighing to the previous one. The second screen contains the total weight you have lost since you began weighing yourself until the date you are reviewing, what your starting weight was and the percentage of body fat your last measurement was. The third screen contains the same information as the second except instead of body fat it displays your hydration percentage.

So you have a complete record for each time you took your weight and saved it and so you can see how you are progressing and whether your loss is from loss of body fat or fluid. Many people see that they lose 2-3 pounds and think they have lost weight when actually they have only lost excess fluid that may have been retained from using too much salt or eating salty snacks.
With this scale you can see if your weight loss is real body weight or just fluid.

I bought this scale to weigh cats.It is perfect for that.It is large enough and curved for them to snuggle on it and get an accurate weight.It is sturdy and easy to use.The only down-side is that it is large to store.I recommend keeping the box.I got it back out of the trash. We wanted a very accurate and consistant scale for home use.Our first attempt was the Tanita HD 372 (reviewed and given one star) that was returned to Amazon.

Webought 349KLX as a much less expensive alternative to the Tanita BWB model which also has an easy to read,wall-mountable display.

The 349KLX runs on one standard 9v battery and has a lit display.We recommend velcro tape rather than the included metal mount to put the display at eye level.The 349KLX is accurate and consistant and weighs to within 2/10ths of a pound.If, for any reason, the display doesn't show "0" when turned on, it has a tare to reset the balance zero.There is also an automatic shutoff to save the battery.

Unlike some scales that lock your weight after a few seconds, this unit continues to adjust until it reaches an equilibrium.

We cannot evaluate this scale for heavy (doctor's office) usage but it is excellent for home use.

After going through two ~$50 digital scales that gave wildly different readings from one weighing to the next, we got fed up and decided to try the LifeSource.I'm very glad we did.This scale is both consistent and accurate.Consistent in that you can step on it ten times and you'll get the same reading every time.Accurate in that we compared our weight on it to the calibrated scale at our pediatrician and got exactly the same weight.

Knowing weight down to the tenth of a pound is nice, if a bit overkill for most people's needs.However, there is one area where this is really useful (and we've used it a lot for this purpose): if you are new parents and want to track the weight of your infant, this scale allows you to do that easily.We've been tracking our son's weight from birth to almost six months (next Wed) this way.

The trick to using this feature is to tap the "on" switch, and step on the scale before it registers a weight.Then one parent stands on the scale and is handed the infant.The scale will only measure the infant's weight; the parent's weight will be taken as part of the baseline.Once you try it it's an extremely simple method, and every time we've done it and then had a follow up exam at the pediatrician, the results have been spot on as mentioned before.Keep in mind that this scale is a whole lot cheaper than a dedicated infant scale, and more versatile.The only real downside is that a very squirmy kid (as ours is nowadays) will take a little longer to get an accurate reading than a calm one, but nothing is perfect.

It's a lot to spend for a scale, but, assuming it lasts a while (it seems well built and I expect it not to die any time soon), it's worth having something that just works as you expect it to.New parents: this is one purchase you might not get at a baby shower, but is well worth it for piece of mind.Plus, it looks pretty slick ;)

Health o meter HDM839DQ-53 Glass Weight Tracking Scale Review

This is a very sharp looking scale- with nice big numbers for the weights. I like the twists of the silver banding around the edges- nicer looking and different than most of the straight edge models. It does weigh and keep track of two different people's weight. A little confusing to figure out at first how to switch people. I found you need to wait a number of seconds after choosing #1 or #2 person. If you've weighed before on 1 or 2, then wait for the previous weight to show, then wait for the scale to go back to 0.0. then step on scale-it will weigh you- but stay on because after that it will switch to the 'difference' between this weight and last- up or down arrow will show increase or decrease. That is the only drawback- you have to wait so long for the reading. If you just want to weigh yourself, that's easy, just step on the scale.

Taylor 7009 Electronic Lithium Scale Review

I have owned this scale for about a week. First of all, the manual is well written, simple, and accurate. Both my mother and I use the scale and have found it to be accurate as compared to our old analog scale. To be honest, our old scale gave varying readings of 1 and 2 pound differences with each repeated weighing at 1-minute intervals. The Taylor 7009 gave consistent readings under the same test everytime except once where the pound difference was up by 0.5.

The scale is relatively small, neat, and gorgeous with its black and silver finish. It has quite a slim profile, and it does feel solid and seems durable, but only time will tell if it is durable. The display is large and the numbers are very easy to read. On the topic of the display, it must be noted that the scale gives a reading within 3 to 4 seconds of standing on it, and it dutifully turns itself off after a few seconds. (I believe this is why the battery would be able to last a lifetime as the manufacturer promises).

It is very sensitive, so it is advisable that once you stand on it, remain as still as possible, because too much movement will result in an Error message on the display. This is easily resolved by stepping off and then on the scale again.

In short, this is a beautifully made scale which functions the way it should - accurately.

Weight Watchers Glass Memory Precision Scale Review

I love this digital scale and how it tells you how your weight has changed from the previous weight and beginning point and how many pounds away you are from your goal weight.

The only thing I dislike is how you can't just step on. You have to tap it and weight for it to zero out before stepping on. Which I guess is more accurate in the end because it calibrates every time.

Detecto 437 Balance Beam Doctor/Physician Scale, 400 lbs, Made in the USA Review

The Detecto Model 437/439 (the 439 has the height measuring rod)
balance beam scale is virtually idential to what you are used to
seeing in a doctor's office. I need to check the next time I'm in
my doctor's office but the 437/439 may be of lighter construction
(but perfectly adequate for the typical home environment).

In the several weeks that I have had the 439 (I ordered the Model
437 but the box contained the Model 439) I have been impressed at :

a.) How repeatable the measurements are

b.) How the scale's calibration stays the
same even when the scale is moved.

The scale arrived in a very rugged cardboard box and the only
assembly was to attach the vertical upright portion of the
scale to the floor assembly (that you stand on).

I think that there could be a slight weakness in the design in
the way the two pieces attach as there might be a problem with
metal fatigue if the scale was dragged around a lot by it's
vertical member.

The floor assembly has two metal 'tabs' that project up and it
is over those 'tabs' that the vertical member is placed and then
secured with four screws on the back and two on the front. The
vertical member exhibits good stiffness when exposed to front-back
pressure but it shows less resistance to side-to-side pressures
because there are no securing elements in those directions.

Long-term I may buy some small metal angle-brackets and mount them
to the left and right of the vertical member to provide support in
that plane (but I may never get around to it because in my household
the scale will not be abused and so will probably never have a
problem).

My overall evaluation of the product is that it's a bargain for the
couple of hundred dollars that I paid for mine through NorthShore
Supply (and the people there seem like nice folks).

I thought for that kind of money I would be getting something very accurate, after all it does weight to the tenth of a pound.I did read the other reviews about its inaccuracy, but chose to ignore them.Don't make the same mistake I did.I can go on and off the scale 10 times in a row and never get the same reading, not even close.I get extreme weights from 130lbs to 155lbs. Last I knew my weight was around 140lbs but I'll NEVER know with this piece of crap.I thought maybe it was just my slight movements that was throwing the numbers off so I weighed objects and still got varied results.But I must say it looks really cool.

I bought this scale over the other 4 products on the shelf because of all the different heath indicators it reported and because the cartoon-like picture on the box suggested it would be very easy to read.Well it turned out that the operation of the scale is far more complex than it needed to be, and the stream of health indicators are cycled thru far too quickly and then the LCD display goes blank (I'm guessing they didn't do any usability testing before releasing the design).To read all the info it measured/calculated, you need to repeat the weighting process (again, too complex) and be quick to catch what you missed the first time thru.If you just need a basic weight tracking capability, you should probably buy some other scale.Otherwise, this does have more features than the others but you need to be prepared for extra complexity and inconvenient operation.

Escali USTT180 Track and Target Bathroom Scale Review

Wow, this is a great scale. I now own three different Escali scales and I bought this one partly based on my satisfaction with the other Escali's (which I love). But this one stands on its own as a really useful scale.It replaces an older tracking scale by A&D, and boy times have changed.

This scale has smart features I've never seen in any other bathroom scale. You don't have to turn it on, just step on and it starts.AND if you're within 6 pounds of your last weight, it guesses which user you are and puts you into the correct user. The only time I can see this as a problem is if you have two people using it who are very close in weight. But even then you could manually select the correct user before you step on.If you don't fit into any of the saved users, it just shows you your weight. I really like this because now others can't see either my target weight or last weight simply by weighing themselves. This was embarrassing to me before with my old tracking scale because it showed everything when someone tapped it. So many guest weigh themselves, for some reason, when they used my bathroom. I know this because they would comment on my stats on my old scale. This Escali privacy feature will help to solve that.You can review the info by pressing the SET button, but I don't think many guests would do that. If you have 4 users, just make sure your's is the last user and other's will never cycle (using the SET key) to yours. In normal use, they would never see see your info by default (it figures out which user you are by your weight).

I've never seen a display like this, but it works well. It's black, and the figures come on as lighter. They're fairly bright, not like an LED, but easy to see.

The repeatability have been perfect every time so far, always giving the same weight no matter how many times i step on and off.

I love being able to set a target weight and see how far I have to go. The scale gives you the results of how much you've changed from the last time you've weighed and the amount you have to go. It gives you all the info on the display. I just wish the display stayed on a little longer to let you get it all in.It stays on for 10 seconds, I assume to save battery life, so I've learned to look quick.

Escali High Capacity Large Display Bathroom Scale (400lb/180kg) Review

These scales are the third set I have bought to weigh myself. I am a big guy (360) & these are the first that will weigh me the same two times in a row. Yes, they do kind of have a small space to stand on but I believe it makes them more accurate. If you weigh too much in pounds you can always switch them to kilos & weigh half as much! The other scales I tried would not weigh the same twice in a row & they sounded like they were breaking to pieces when I stepped on them.
If your big like me I can recommend these scales.

I finally decided to throw away my ancient bathroom scale that I've used for the past decade and decided to buy this particular scale. First of all, hats off to the seller for being such a fast shipper! It shipped the same day I ordered and I received it in two days! As for the scale, there isnt anything bad that I've noticed abotu it. It does exactly what its supposed to do, so nothing to complain about there. As with most digital scales, remember to have it on a flat surface like tile or wood and not on carpet. As for the accuracy, it seems to be consistent and almost isntantly reads your weight. I would say this very well constructed scale that anyone could use with ease.

LifeSource Compact Precision Scale Review

I have used this scale for a month and am happy that it is more accurate and more stable than the previous scale I used. I like that it measures to tenths of a pound. I find that if I stand on the scale the same way each time without shifting my weight from one measurement to the next provides the greatest degree of consistency. This is a small scale and the average adult foot is going to hang over the edge a bit but I have not found this to be a problem and I appreciate the small footprint it takes in the bathroom.

Taylor 5599 440 Pound Tempered Glass Body Fat-Body Water Scale Review

There may only be seven reviews for this scale, but there's a reason that all seven of us have rated this product with 5 stars; it is a marvelous machine.You get 5 numbers: weight, body fat, muscle mass, water percentage and bone mineral mass.There is an athletic setting and a regular setting.When I checked body fat (the most examined number) in both athletic and regular mode, the range of fat seemed consistent with a range for my height, weight and build.Obviously, each user will choose the setting that seems most accurate to them (athletic or normal).

The only issue that I have with the scale is in the length of time that information is displayed.Weight is flashed three times and then is solid for about 5 seconds before the scale turns itself off.As well, the body percentages cycle three times before they turn off.I would prefer for the numbers to show as long as you are on the scale.I think that the manufacturers designed it that way to preserve battery life.

Nevertheless, if you do repeated tests within the same time span, you get consistent results (no variations).So, the consistency alone is the main reason for getting this scale.I highly recommend this product. Even if you just use it for the scale it's worth it.

Excellent scale, even for double the money.The tare feature works like most others, but the three real goodies are:
... the FOUR MINUTE before auto-cutoff.Not like the Taylor scale I had that cut off after one minute of nonuse.It was always cutting off on me before I was finished with it.
... and NO DEFAULT SCALE It's the same as when you last turned it off (if you were using grams, the next time you turn it on it's still in grams, OR ounces at OFF then it's ounces at ON).Tap the button to change g/oz on the fly.
... AND it holds A FULL ELEVEN pounds (5kg).I put a bag of flour on it, set tare, and scoop out until it reads xx-ounces (virtually impossible with a 6# scale).
Yeah, I was a chef for many years and more interested in utility over aesthetics in my equipment.I buy flour in 5# or 10# bags now instead of 50# or 100#.I used to have to have several scales -- one for portions and and one forweighing things like yeast and salt, and bigger ones for things like flour and meats.Now 11# is sufficient and this is still accurate enough for yeast and salt.
... Okay, so it's plastic instead of yuppie glass and chrome.It's accurate and well designed -- not heavy, temperamental, or hard to clean.It just works.
... Oh, and it doesn't use strange batteries (regular old AA batteries so you don't go into conniptions when you need replacements)

Weight Watchers WW34D Glass Precision Electronic Scale Review

We bought this digital scale to replace our analog scale thinking it would be easier to read and prettier to look at.It is both.It gives consistent readings to the tenth of a pound, meaning that it gives the exact same reading if I step off and back on a few minutes apart.I weighed our two cats (10.2 lbs and 10.7 lbs) and found that if weigh myself holding a cat, it displays the exact sum of our individual weights.My weight is consistent with our old scale, except that this scale gives a much more precise reading.

To use the scale, you must first tap it with your foot and wait two or three seconds for it to display 0.0.If you skip this part, it displays "Err" until you step off.This is of course different from a traditional scale, but it took only a few uses for it to become habit.It might be nicer if the toe tap wasn't required, and I deducted a star for that, but we wouldn't trade it back for an analog scale.Perhaps the tap is required to extend the battery life and/or to calibrate the scale to exact zero.There may be other digital scales that don't require the tap, but it really isn't that big of a deal for us.
